french modernism | Steiners is a family-owned jewelry store located in downtown San Mateo since 1937. They moved from their red brick location to a former bank building and the newest generation of owners wanted to create an update that would speak to existing clients as well as attract new. San Francisco influences and French Modern Classicism were the inspirations that give Steiners a Coco Channel atelier feel—something timeless and sophisticated. The space is so inviting—more like a grand living room than retail store. Amoroso Design was integral to the entire transformation from the architecture, materials selections, paint, cabinet and display designs to the packaging and branding.
marina restaurant | An ode to a bygone San Francisco era. Victorian manor meets modern industrial loft. A modern-day parlor for eating and drinking that evokes a Victorian/turn-of-the century feel in a way that makes you want to live in the times where Oscar Wilde, and other classic bohemians and free thinkers would want to visit and imbibe. Three distinct spaces: two which are full of rich colors, dark wood, oil painting portraits, peacock wallpaper, shelves of books... one of which is light and bright a modern interpretation of the Victorian greenhouse.
cow hollow restaurant | Housed in the original 1854 dairy farm house where cow hollow derives its name and situated behind the second oldest palm tree in San Francisco, designed to evoke a bygone era of tropical leisure. the design is an homage to the building's history infused with the colors of the "spice trail" cuisines. The interior is arranged like that of an old Carribbean estate: a series of rooms that eventually lead to the kitchen and a private "captain's room" dining space; Inviting bold colors balanced with warm dark woods, white walls, well worn wood bar, sculptural birdcage chandelier, green house ceiling, a multitude of windows and tropical plantings. a warm "vacation" spot respite from San Francisco's notoriously gloomy weather.
